France is the leading tourism nation in the world with around 85 million visitors every year. The tourism industry accounts for 6.5% of France's GDP. One of France's major tourism attractions is its culinary tradition, making it a mecca for gourmands across the world. As the capital of France, Paris is a center of culture and one of the most important metropolises in the world. Famous destinations include the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame cathedral. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), France is one of the top three destinations for travel between Taiwan and Europe. The Taiwan-Europe market for January-October 2017 grew by 23% compared to the same period last year. Stable growth can therefore be expected for the European market in the future.
China Airlines is progressively introducing ten 777 and fourteen A350 new aircraft to optimize the carrying capacity of its global network. Apart from operating the only non-stop flights to Frankfurt in Germany and Rome in Italy, China Airlines introduced non-stop flights to London in the UK on December 1, 2017. China Airlines is also strengthening its relationship with partner airlines and now operates codeshare flights with fellow SkyTeam carriers KLM, Aitalia, Czech Airlines and Air Europa. The connecting services to Manchester (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Barcelona (Spain) and Madrid (Spain) provide travelers with a more convenient and flexible network. The addition of Air France as a partner carrier for Taiwan-Europe codeshare flights represents another successful move by China Airlines to enter the European air transport market. (2017/12/29)
