Tickets refund
Online refund is for tickets which purchase from China Airlines website, Call Center, downtown ticketing office or airport ticketing counter. Refund can be applied on the next day and within two years of the purchase date (local time of the departure station). If ticket was paid by Credit card, the refund amount will be reimbursed to the credit card account number used in the original purchase. If ticket was paid by by cash or other tools, China Airlines will contact guests to offer bank account for refund.
For tickets purchased through the travel agency, please contact the travel agency for refund.
Passengers holding tickets do not cancel reservations, do not show up for the flights or do not board their flights after completion of the check-in process, can not apply for the tickets refund on CI website. Please contact our branch office for refund request.
If your ticket purchased via China Airlines website and has not been used or reissued, the refund amount will be credited back to the original payment method within 7 days after the refund is applied online, but the duration of reimbursement will subject to card-issuing banks handling procedures, and the refund/booking service charge will be deducted from the original amount. Tickets purchased via China Airlines website and have been partially flown or reissued, or tickets purchased from Call Center, downtown ticketing office, or airport ticketing counter, the refund duration will vary from case to case.
Tickets purchased via China Airlines website and to/from USA , a full refund without service charge will be given if the refund request is submitted within 48 hours after ticket purchase and the reservation was made one week or more prior to a flight's scheduled departure.
To apply for refund on "duplicate ticket purchase" reason, both tickets must be purchased from this website, have exactly same departure and arrival station/date/flight number) and ticket name, (eg. TPE-NRT/CI100 and TSA-HND/CI223 are not applicable for duplicate purchase). The booking service charge is non-refundable. If application does not meet the requirement above or the ticket fare to keep is lower than the ticket to refund, the service fee will not be waived.
To refund the unused sector after ticket being partial flown, the ticket fare will be recalculated according to the sector used. If no ticket value left, the unused tax can be refunded while the refund service charge and no show fee will be waived.
Passengers refund the ticket with DFP award must make sure the award no. still valid after refund if passengers would like to keep the award no. for use in the future or returning the mileage to the DFP account.
Children and infant need to travel with at least one parent or guardian who is 18 years of age or older.

Totally unused Miles and Cash tickets will be refunded in cash for the portion of the tickets purchased with cash, plus taxes and miles will be returned to the account holder who made the booking if that mileage is still valid on the application date for the refund. Partially used ticket will be refunded in cash for unused flight segments and taxes, but mileage cannot be refunded.(Refund fee will be collected per ticketing rule.)
Refund Electronic Miscellaneous Document Fee
The tickets that you hold should be issued by either China Airlines (297) or Mandarin Airlines (803) on CI.COM official website.

Refund for THSRC Supplementary Services
Online refunds are available only for completely unused electronic miscellaneous document within 2 years of the date of issue.
Electronic miscellaneous document refund application may only be applied the day after the booking is made.
Tickets to/from USA, a full refund without service charge will be given if the refund request is submitted within 48 hours after ticket purchase and the reservation was made one week or more prior to a flight's scheduled departure.
The refund amount will be credited back to the original payment method within 7 days after the refund is applied online, but the duration of reimbursement will subject to card-issuing banks handling procedures.
The prepaid additional baggage is refundable without any charges.
Seat Selection Fee is not refundable, except for "involuntary reasons" or "duplicated payment of itinerary & seat change". Involuntary reasons include:
Passenger cancels or changes his/her reservation due to his/her China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines flight encounters aircraft type change, delay (more than 3 hours) or flight cancellation.
Seat selection has to be changed because subject passenger does not meet our emergency exit seat requirements.
Miss connection to flights operated by China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines due to delay from a previous China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines flight.
Duplicated payment of itinerary and/or seat change is refundable. However, it’s not refundable if the new seat is free of charge.
To apply for refund on "duplicated payment of itinerary & seat change" reason, both Electronic Miscellaneous Document must be issued by same flight ticket number. If your chargeable seat documents were issued by different flight ticket number, please contact our customer service center or local branch office counters for further handling.
