President Ma Ying-Jeou, Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-Pyng and Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-Bin were also present by invitation, planting over hundred saplings of Taiwan native trees.

Recently, CAL has cooperated with the Chiayi County Government to replant windbreak trees at the Seaview Park. At the same time, CAL has adopted 0.25 hectares of land each at Fudekeng and Seaview Park with the objective of planting and growing on each site about 500 saplings, including arbor trees, various shrubs, coastal plants, plants that attract butterflies and fragrant plants. In 2010, CAL has also participated tree-planting activity in the Hsinchu City.

As a member of the global village, CAL is actively participating in global environmental protection plans and projects organized by major international organizations such as International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines (AAPA). CAL also cooperates with the government and domestic research institutions to promote various policies related to greenhouse gas and carbon reduction. CAL was also certified by the Environmental Protection Administration to be the first airline company in Taiwan that completed an inventory and verification of greenhouse gasses. Through substantial action, CAL is working to reduce carbon emissions for the purpose of protecting global ecology and ensuring sustainable development.
