To impart a complex fruitiness to the whisky, Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and recharged – an important process that brings out the fruity vanilla notes and wood overtones. It has complex and multi-layered notes of pepper, spice, dates, slong with ripe melon, mango and hints of kiwi and a delicate blend of bursting citrus fruits.
