China Airlines Introduces In-Flight Lounge Bar in Collaboration with BLAH BLAH Bar x SUNMAI Enjoy all-new co-branded cocktails 30,000 feet up on all routes and cabin classes
2024 Dec 25
China Airlines is introducing yet another novel in-flight catering experience in a collaboration with SUNMAI and the trendy bar brand BLAH BLAH Bar. Two new alcoholic cocktail beverages exclusive to China Airlines will be launched on January 1, 2025. The Passionfruit Lemon Cocktail, with its rich fruity scents, and Oolong Blackcurrant Cocktail, with its fully-developed tea fragrance, are available in all cabin classes and on all routes to and from Taipei (Taoyuan).
The inspiration for Passionfruit Lemon Cocktail comes from the fleecy clouds floating by the aircraft window. The pastel pinks are a nod to the plum blossom represented in the corporate logo of China Airlines. Passion-fruit liqueur is added to the vodka base to define the cocktail’s character and ignite excitement over the upcoming vacation to faraway lands. A dash of fresh lemon juice brings out the fruity highlights, while the refreshing exchange of sweet and sour creates a dreamy feel.
The air of stately mystery in the Oolong Blackcurrant Cocktail comes from its combination of blackcurrant liqueur and Dongding Oolong tea. The elegant shades of blackcurrant liqueur reflect the corporate color of China Airlines while roasted Oolong tea represents the serenity of the night sky. The rich fragrance and tartness of blackcurrant combined with refreshing Oolong tea enhances the sweetness of meat-based cuisine. The high phenol content is the perfect accompaniment as well. The layers of sweetness in each sip are like unforgettable memories that keep coming back.
The safety of the beverage was a special focus of China Airlines, SUNMAI, and BLAH BLAH Bar. Only 100% natural fruit juice is used for the ingredients of the Passionfruit Lemon Cocktail and Oolong Blackcurrant Cocktail. To give travelers the chance to enjoy both cocktails, from January 1, 2025 China Airlines will serve the Passionfruit Lemon Cocktail on all flights departing from Taipei (Taoyuan) and Oolong Blackcurrant Cocktail on all flights returning to Taiwan. From February onwards, the cocktails will be available to travelers on flights departing from and returning to Songshan and Kaohsiung as well.
To celebrate the new cocktails, passengers can simply post a photo of the in-flight cocktail with a caption to the China Airlines Facebook fan page, BLAH BLAH Bar Facebook fan page, or the SUNMAI Facebook fan page before the end of January. Passengers will then be entered in a drawing for Economy Class return air fares to any destination on China Airlines’ regional routes. Between February 1 and February 28, present your Dynasty Card (physical or electronic) at the BLAH BLAH Bar to be eligible for an additional NT$200 in bonus credit when NT$1000 credit is purchased.
China Airlines welcomes every traveler, presenting them with eye-opening gourmet cuisine through continued innovations in catering. Collaborations in recent years included the Michelin-starred Yangming Spring restaurant, Les Palais Chinese restaurant, and the Mipon restaurant. Japanese-style banquet cuisine was also crafted in partnership with Toutouan, a well-known restaurant in Tokyo. China Airlines strives to innovate on in-flight deserts, beverages, and bread as well. A series of specialty items were introduced in partnership with boutique dessert maker Le Ruban Pâtisserie, popular hand-shaken tea brand WooTEA, and world baking champion Chen Yao-Chun in an effort to bring a wide variety of sublime treats to travelers in the sky.
